Default sailing Seattle to the San Juan Islands...any experinces?

This time of year is usually pretty calm. You might hit fog in the AM's so
be prepared to have another cup of coffee in the morning.
PT is one of the most wonderful ports in the world. Don't miss the walk down
to the Fort Warden/Point Hudson area. The little cafe overlooking the marina
has terrific breakfasts.
The shipping channels between there and the Islands were moved roughly 1
mile north and east so be sure your charts are current and you keep clear of
the commercial traffic. It's unbelievable how fast they can sneak up on you.
If you run up between San Juan and Lopez you'll be in Cattle Pass. Like most
of the area, timing your trip with consideration for currents is critical.
Be sure to pick up Capt Jacks Tide Almanac, if you can find one. It's pretty
late in the season for them to be found on the shelf but it's indispensable.
Have a great trip!
