BTW, my son did his first area solo a couple of weeks ago so he can
now get out of the circuit and out into the training area. A few more
weeks and he'll have his GFPT or restricted PPL.

I will have to check with Bertie about the license exchange from Europe to
USA, but I think you are saying that he's got his private pilot certificate
(hence he soloed) In America, our "private pilot certificate" is a little
more stringent than yours, we require "night time flying", which I think you
guys have a separate certificate for that?
