Default Don't Buy Gas Today

And what will "Don't Buy Gas Day" accomplish? If you don't buy it today,
you'll buy it tomorrow

Not necessarily.

Same people who promote this type of politically correct silliness wouldn't
ever think of raking public transportation, car pooling, or just not going
somewhere....

And some of them are modern hippies who live like refugees, and don't
have a car in the first place.

The only thing this kind of silliness does is raise awareness of the
issue. To make a change, more people have to decide to consume less...
which would be good in any case if you are old fashioned enough to
believe in saving money.

... and your average gas station owner does not make a very big
profit on the gas...he makes his profit on selling cappuccino, coffee, and
candy bars....so who gets hurt the most? Small business...the guy down the
block....Why don't people have the ability to think these things through all
the way?

Because politcal hype, from both sides, discourages thinking it all the
way through. If people *thought* then we would never have gotten in
theis mess, would we?
