Default Guess What Folks?

Jim Cate sailed by my marina today. No kidding. It was around noon,
and he came from the south. Looked like one of those Italian cruise
ships. Brand new dark blue hull, Brand New Matching Bimini, and
matching blue fenders hanging over the side. I saw him about a mile
away, new sail straining in a 14 knot breeze, his boat plowing across
the lake at 1 maybe 1&1/2 knots. My god, my jaw hit the deck. He came
within 40 yards of the shore and shouted Hey I'm Jim Cate! It was
truly sad to see him beating to windward, he had to lay off the wind
30+ degrees to keep his thin new sails from flapping, and once he
caught the wing he was blown sideways more than upwind. His new sails
look like a 100% jib and a main with get this NO reffing points, but a
nice M Logo that seemed just a little small. He had his kids , wife
and mother with him. They turned just as soon as I yelled back Im Joe
see ya on ASA. When he tacked he was almost blown down, made it to the
center of the lake and he furled his jib, took down the main and
motered towards the boadwalk. My jaw hit the ground. It was by far the
worst preforming boat Ive ever seen sail the lake.

No kiddin folks, there is a im, and he has a brand spanking new mac.
as a fellow Texan, I hang my head in shame.

But what the hell, Ill leave him so far behind in our race its going
to be a major skunkin.

OK Jim, I know your for real, When do you want to race?

Kemah to redfish and back.

& remember 20 KTS of wind plus, no were near the 70 that Mac can
handle!

BTW your son did a good job helping take down the main! And please
next time pull up your fenders, your an embarressement to all sailors!
