Paintball sailing
Been There... Done That... It's a Blast
Played a game called Treasure Hunt.... Island to Island hunt for hints and
warfare inbetween.
We used water balloon launchers as canons. Any vessel struck had to do a
penalty 180, 5 strikes and you were out for that leg. Paint ball guns for
the crews while at sea and ashore. We also allowed broom handles covered in
closed cell foam as hand to hand weapons. Boarding other vessels and
capturing crew was encouraged. Undefended vessels 9 crew ashore looking for
next hint or treasure) could be captured.
I suggest at least 5 "Legs " or "Stages" and at least as many vessels.

| I like to sail and my 13 yr old son loves paintball, So...........
|
| Boat crews are armed with paintball guns, when all crew members are
| shot, game is over. A shot member cannot shoot anymore or help sail.
|
| Imagine the strategy that would evolve:
|
| Bow raking would be inneffective cuz crew would hide in cockpit behind
| cabin.
| Stern raking would work well.
| A boat being pursued would want to stay in the jib shadow of the
| pursuer cuz the pursuer could only shoot from his cockpit while the
| pursued could concentrate his fire there.
| Two boat approaching each other across wind, the boat with "Weather
| Gage" would have advantage cuz he would be shielded by his jib..
|
| Possible games:
|
| Fleet actions
| Blockade runner where a single boat attempts to make it past other(s)
| into port.
| Small boats like Lasers or Sunfish could be "Gunboats"
|
| I am going to test on an old sail to see if paintballs stain sails.
