Default drip type packing gland

You can still do it. You just have to want to. Last weekend I was up for
36 hours straight 'cos I was realling enjoying a nice dark night with a
gentle breeze.

How tight do you make the packing? Till the shaft won't turn by hand?

I *will* loosen it up and adjust before I motor anywhere.
