The history of sailing on the Lake of Garda goes back hundreds of
years. It is a virtual paradise for sailors. In the past 50 years it
has become well noted as a sports center for all types of sailing
activities. Several regattas are held on Lake Garda including the
internationally famous Hundred Mile Regatta held annually every
September.
The varying winds of the Lake can range from gentle breezes to brisk
winds offering both the sailing and the wind surfing enthusiast some
of the most ideal conditions on the European mainland.
