This is a lie. I posted several notes on the ng in February, at which
time I was looking at several boats but hadn't made any decisions. In
fact, I was looking at displacement boats in the 30-35 ft range in
particular, and I was planning to make a deposit on the Cal 34, before
getting the overwhelmingly negative reaction from my wife. As previously
noted, I finally settled on the Mac 26M, for a number of reasons, and my
order was placed March 25.

There have been a number of absurd, vacuous, and probably even libelous
notes posted on this ng for a number of years bashing the Macs. My
intention is to see that the discussions become at least somewhat more
balanced, and that the bashers begin to realize that Mac Bashing just
isn't as much fun as it used to be.

it all you want, but those are the facts. You had an opportunity
to prove me wrong, but was unable.

The FACT is that the Mac you bought is a piece of crap, and
the FACT is that you're now trying to justify it. Keep at it if
it makes you feel better, but that won't improve the quality
of boat. You got ripped off and can't admit it to yourself or
anyone else.

I know from a very, very reliable source that the Mac is an
incredible rip-off. But, you don't give a sh*t, so fine. Take
her out on the ocean, but be sure to bring an EPIRB. You're
going to need it.
