aussies spend too much time in the hot sun without wearing a hat, as witness

Actually, I'm surprised Jax didn't jump all over him for not saying "sea
trial"
rather than "field test".
We 'sea trial' ships. We 'field test' boats. This boat came out on
'Aurora Australis' from Casey base.
G I don't have a problem with either term when used in context
I don't have a problem with almost anything that gets me paid for
playing with boats :-) Starting to plan out next southern summer's work
program, who's going where.
..... Jax, on
the other hand......has problems, period.
The ship, otn mentioned, is probably the US counterpart to the Aurora
Australis.
Yeah, I see your USCG vessels come through here every couple years. Had
a good wander around 'Polar Star' a while back, probably couldn't do
that nowadays.
Glorious autumn weather here but alas there was little wrong with the
workboat, so now it's on its cradle on the hardstand behind my store.
It'll go back south next season.
I've seen a few of these on their return to US (US version) .... they've
obviously had some hard use but are well built.
6mm aluminium plate all seams fully welded to prevent water freezing
and breaking skip welds, twin 6 cyl diesels driving Hamilton jets.
About 6.5 tonnes each, they're nice toys.
Just for Jaxie's edification, we test gear after we get it back so we
know what, if anything is wrong with it and what mods if any need to be
done to improve it before the next time it's used. With equipment in
places we work, it has to work the first time and you can't run to the
store if you've forgotten something, so we test before it ships south
and after it returns. I know this sort of approach to a problem is
beyond Jax's comprehension, but just maybe something might filter
through.....
From Jax's response, it didn't .... but that's to be expected.
Typical Jaxass - go for the obfuscation, ignore the substance. Happens
every time because he's too thick to understand what's beng said. Why I
keep him in my KF. Funny he is, but that doesn't counterbalance the
painful and repetitive stupidity.
