As my way of saying goodbye....
Actually, gun ownership in the US isn't as widespread as you might think.
Vito also misses one very important fact, most of the stolen weapons on the
streets of the US come from.......drum roll please.........home
burglaries!!!!!!! guns, especially handguns, being portable, valuable and
easy to sell. This myth about self-defense is simply something tossed out by
the NRA to promote gun ownership. The responsible handgun owner has his
weapon locked and unloaded, a burglar comes in the house(generally unarmed,
most states in the US have fairly draconian penalties associated with the
use of a firearm in the commission of a felony) and the homeowner is
supposed to unlock the weapon, load it and capture the burglar?
BWAHAHAHAHHAHA. Burglars target unoccupied dwellings because......another
drumroll please......it increases their likelihood of NOT GETTING CAUGHT.
Real simple stuff. The alternative, keeping an unlocked loaded gun in the
house increases the chance of little Billy blowing his own or his friends
brains out, as the authorities in this major metropolitan area(Detroit) will
sadly confirm. Or, in the worst case scenario, getting those gun(s) and
going somewhere and massacring half of the school. Oh well, just the price
to pay if you want to live in the greatest, freest country on the planet.

It's ALMOST as stupid as the gun
phobia that infects Europe. US burgulars ply their trade when victims
are
out because they know that we are armed and will eagerly shoot them but
Euro
criminals prefer to rob occupied dwellings because they know you are
psychologically incapable of self defense. Different strokes for .....
It must suck having to lug a gun with you everywhere in the US for
"self-defence". I hate even having to carry a cell-phone. What a
restriction
on your personal liberty!
