I believe he is trying to say that his CMG was originally 190, but when
they hit the eddy, it became 090, not, that his compass heading went
from 190 to 090.
no kidding, otk? Is that what you believe? What did you do, read the post 18
times until you understood all the big words?
have you been tying one one for three days with olde fart and are just now
coming around?

Thom, you must remember, that Jax is an amateur when it comes to many
things, especially navigation. You must understand that when he makes a
statement that his "course" was 190 and upon encountering an eddy,
became 090 (numbers from memory) that his amateur status means that this
statement can be taken in a number of ways, but he is not aware of that
fact.
I believe he is trying to say that his CMG was originally 190, but when
they hit the eddy, it became 090, not, that his compass heading went
from 190 to 090.
"Course" means many things, which are usually explained in the context
of how the term is used. In Jax's case, he is neither experienced nor
intelligent enough to realize this, and thus explain it in his post.
He also frequently uses this gambit to create a useless argument which
is really, nothing more than a "word game"

Jax,
Are you trying to say Drift?
Now lets recap a bit. You stated that you were head south, west of the
Gulf Stream following the shelve line. Your compress was What?
Your course change from 90 degrees to a 190 degrees in a eddy? Now was
this Eddy from the Gulf Stream?
Sounds strange. If you were heading South, what were you doing on a 90
degree course? That easting.
If you were drifting 190 degrees you were finally going South! Why did
you tack?
If you were driven South by a Eddy of the Gulf Stream, Where the hell in
the Atlantic were you that the Gulf Stream was flowing SOUTH?
Jax, even if it is only in your mind, Do yourself a favor and dream of
something that doesn't involves the Gulf Stream. You can't get the
"Stream" to go South. You can't go South on a course of 90 degrees!
You sure do get caught in some mighty tall tails (WHOOPER) when you
start LYING about your experiences in the Gulf Stream. We can put this
one with your other time you had the Gulf Stream flowing SOUTH.
How do you ever expect sailors to believe such BS?
