Seeing the future or what?
That's true. I'll list the good channels. History, Discovery, National
Geo., uuuhhhh, Weather Channel, some sports if you are interested in those
particular sports, OLN, Travel, I'm running out of ideas here . . . . .the
occasional movie. . . . I'm sure I missed a few but you get the idea.
We don't get any of them at sea. I found out I don't miss them at all. I
have to admit while I'm staying in the motel before flying out I am watching
some of the classic movies so that channel makes the list and to be
perfectly honest Tommy Lee Jones in Volcano is on even as we type!
But my original statment stands. TV is primarily geared for entertainment
for mindless people and that includes the bulk of the new programs. Plus I
freakin' despise the ads because of the volume changes.
I tried one of these 'divorced from reality' shows. Is this a joke or what?
BOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG but definitely for mindless idiots.
With radio be it the NPR variety or the talk radio variety you have to
think. The only shortcoming to radio (and I'm leaving out the music
channels of course) is the senseless talk fast whatever it is at the end of
the ads. What are they trying to cover up? All that garbage tells me
there's a catch or it's just a scam to begin with.
Back to TV. Where can you find the greatest use of plastic in the world?
Behind any TV anchor desk regardless of sex.
I'm not a snob about such things. With rare exceptions such as those noted
above I actively dislike the boob tube. Which brings us back to the use of
plastic.

Mike, don't be a TV snob. There are lots , well, several good programs and
movies on TV. Just last night I watched a show about the CG and pilots on
the Columbia bar.
