Default These are things worth writing about

Actually No. I was destroying the myth of 'validating the individual by
respecting the office.' It's like the 'lesser of two evils' myth or
silliness. Supporting the lesser of two evils only makes one a supporter of
evil . . .nothing more. Transferring 'respect for an office' to an unworthy
individual only makes one a person who supports unworthy people, nothing
more. The way to 'respect the office' is to staff it with worthy people.
Unfortunately no one 'worthy' becomes a policitician. They are mutually
exclusive.

I fear I mispoke in one regard. 'Myth' is too classical a word in this
particular case. 'Silliness' is all that's deserved.

Why? Would one expect to respect the office of Chancellor of Germany in

say
. . . .1938? I don't think so. Last President I truly respected was

JFK.
(Bet that surprised everyone.)

I liked him only because he did Marilyn.
