Imagine that, moving safley at 30 + knots and soley relying on a
display units. A skill far greater than any physic yachtmaster can
even comprehend. We have over 80 submarines underway as you read this,
Boomers and fast attack flying the seven seas at speeds that would

live on an isle that is famous for it's fog, and I would think that
most yachtmasters would make learning to use radar to safely navigate
thru fog a priorty.

I know if I lived in an area prone to fog I would always use radar on
clear days and learn every detail of the local waters that I plie by
radar. That way when thats the only way to navigate safely I would
have no fear or lack of local knowledge. Its also the best way to
learn how to tune a radar.

Remember when I wrote rhat one should "play with the Radar"? What did your
little brain think that I meant by that?

In your case playing is indeed playing. Here we study the functions of
radar and learn to use them when needed. To you its a toy to play
with, not a tool to get a job done.




You say you have a radar, and you have proved you have no confidence
in your ability to use it.

How?

By not understanding that proffesional mariners use it safely to
navigate in the fog.
