No noise is acceptable, do the joints now before they go out and destroy$$$.
Do all the boot's while you're there. Get ready to do them again next year.
Don't make hard turns and don't over trim with the engine running, this is
what ruins them quickly.

I've been hearing a noise(click/rattle) in neutral whenever steering
is turned more than 3/4 way either left or right. Can also get noise
if lift outdrive to shallow water (High, but not trailer)position.
Is it normal to hear the i/o u-joints as they get near their
"flex-limit"?
Should I hear.. some noise...or no noise at all? When started cold
almost can not hear it,,, is loudest after long run at cruise,,my
other boats were all outboards,,this is new to me,,all help
appreciated.
