I was going to put mine forward also, but I figured it would take more
of a beating up there and could potentially get stepped on. Where I
have it is almost impossible to touch no less get stomped.

Forgot to mention it is a thru hull transducer I've mounted on a wedge
to made it look straight down. It's mounted forward of the keel, in the
V-berth locker.
