Default Discharge

prohibited?

Good gravy, Doanl...that's disgusting. Kids swim in our marina. We swim
off our mooring. We fish off our boat and the kids at the Yacht Club fish
off the docks. You want to go slogging around in someone else's fresh
excrement be my guest, but keep it over in GB.

Ah! Nobody swims in our marina. Also, I never use the boat's head in
any marina either, apart from occasional liquid discharge in one of the
large French marinas, where the shoreside facilities are locked after 23:00
..

My question was genuine. Swimmers are a good reason to ban any discharge.

It is also possible that I see things a bit differently because we have a
good tidal range here. Most of the marinas that I visit have a complete
change of water twice a day.

I'm guessing here, but I'd say that 80% of the water gets replaced in
Portsmouth Harbour on a spring tide. Many of the French harbours dry
completely!
