I know what you mean... I got this email from my mom a couple
of years ago. She's, btw, quite anti-religious... always has been.
My father had died maybe 6 mos before I got this particular
email.
She was having a problem with some rodents that were in the
garage and I had suggested she get some bait.
"I will check around some more next week. One person told me that the bait
can
be obtained at the Agriculture Dept in ???. I can't ask Jesus to go all
the way there. It is about 25 miles each way and he works on his route 6
days
a week. I would have no way of finding my way in ???. I get lost in this
city
more often than I would like to confess and this city is only 7 miles
square. I'll speak to some more companies on Monday after the lab or on
Tuesday and then I will see if Willie (handyman) will go. If he will, I can
get
Jesus to hang the canisters. If not, I don't know, at this point, what to
do except
wait until you come here in September. Maybe one of the companies has the
bait. I have a few to call yet but they consider anything concerning trees
horticultural and their licenses don't permit them to handle that kind of
pest
control. I'll let you know what Jesus says."
Of course, I was a bit shocked by this. Either my mom had a religious
conversion,
or she had finally gone over the edge. I called her immediately, trying to
dance
around the subject. Finally, Jesus came up in the conversation. I asked her
when
she saw him or talked to him last. She told me he was there right now. So,
being
cagey, I asked if I could talk to him. She said no, that he was outside
working. I
told her it was really important, so she said ok. Then, he got on the phone.
Now,
I've never talked to Jesus before, but after about 2 seconds, I realized he
was
the hispanic gardner.

I'm not sure of that "record," but I think most informed observers
would agree
that Jesus probably did exist, that he was a Rabbi, and that he was
crucified.
The issue at doubt is his divinity.
As for his name, it was rather common, and by Jewish tradition he had
no last
name. He would either be known as "... son of ..." or identified by
his town.
And by definition, religion, or perhaps I should say "faith", is
irrational.

A man named Jesus is on historical record as having been
crucified. If I remember the record correctly there were
two other men crucified at the same time.
The other two dead men were no more Gods than Jesus
was. What was Jesus' last name anyway? Did he even
have a last name? Funny how everybody else in those days
seems to have had a last name. Maybe religious legends
don't need a last name?
Maybe religions are irrational? Yes, that's it.
How one group of religious nuts can claim with absolute
surety theirs is the only TRUE religion should tell any
sane man that NONE of them are right!

Jesus? Don't you mean Easter Bunny?
There is NO Jesus, dummy.
Jesus is a matter of historical fact!
There is NO hard evidence that Jesus ever existed. Not even a fossil
record.
Bob, You're an idiot.
Jesus Christ existed. He was crucified.
Believe it or not, these facts are a matter of record.
You live in a very young country. Perhaps you, mistakenly, think
that
records do not exist from the year 30AD. In fact, they do. There is
*NO*
doubt about the existence of Jesus. NONE whatsoever! The Romans
were
great beaurocrats. They kept written records of all public events.
Both
the Birth, and the Cruifixion of Christ are documented facts.
You may well derive some personal gratification from the denunciation
of
Christ, but that is something that you will answer for.
Christ existed. That's an Historical fact.
Bush is a liar. That is also a fact!
