You still have to recompress it as DVDR hold only 4.7G and most movies
are slightly bigger than that. If you compress with DIVX you can
compress a movie to about 1.2G with good stereo and good quality on a
high def. screen. Go below that and the quality plummets (as you would
expect).

You can burn DVD to compressed MPEG on CDRW. Looks like crap. Since the DVD
burners no need.
