By saying "Dollar output per hour worked is behind many others" you've distorted the
truth.
Here's the table from the original study. Go down to Figure 18b:

It is true that four countries are slightly more productive per hour than the US (Norway
is the only one significantly higher), that hardly represents "many others."
The US leads by far when measured "per person employed."
