Default Who's the fastest of them all...

I noticed the specs on that one also. Did you see these pictures of
the Marstrom 20?

The trend is high aspect sails, asmetrical spins, and either
eliminating the jib, or making it self tending.

All those factors being equal, it seems that length is the most
important factor in predicting speed in a design these days.

Would anyone out there have guessed that the D-Cat, the Formula
40s and the RC-30 are all very very close in speed, with a
slight nod going to the D-Cat in heavy air and to the RC-30 in
light air? I wonder where 'Cogito' rates on this scale, or S&S
'87. AFAIK they are still the fastest cats by a noticable
margin.

Among beach cats, the Tornado still reigns apparently, except
for the Marstrom 20 which is a boat I'd like very much to see.
