2nd Career Moving Boats??
A friend of mine used to do deliveries.
Ontario...down ICW to Virgin Islands.....from Carribean to Ireland, from
Carribean to Azores etc
Believe he charged $ 1500.00 US per week plus expenses.
He also arranged for a minimal crew to help. I had a chance to go on
one...but work got in the way.

I'd be interested in discussing what the requirments are to be hired as a
captain to move vessels up and down the east coast. I'm currently
beginning
to plan for a retirement/2nd career. It occuurred to me while attending
one
of the local boat shows, that somebody has to move the larger yatchs from
Florida up north to the shows and then back again - if unsold. Also,
there
must be lots of wealthy individulas who own large boats in the Northeast
that pay to have them brought south for the winter months and then back up
north again.
What type of Captrain's license is required and who do you approach to
find
employment in this field? Also be curious to know what type of pay is
involved.
TIA,
Sandy K.
