Default Bottom Paint

Just bought my first sailboat this year...a 1986 Mac25 which is moored
at Cave Run Lake in Kentucky. Cave Run is one of the cleanest lakes in
the nation. The boat had been in the water for at least three years
before I bought it. When I took it out of the water for the first time
this past weekend, besides a considerable "slime" layer and rust nodules
on the keel, I found what appears to be the original bottom paint fairly
intact.

I'm sure it's time for a repaint job. What is the best type of paint
for a situation such as mine? I don't want to spend $$$ on an ablative
multi-season coating if it's not necessary, nor do I want to paint the
thing any more than is absolutely necessary. Suggestions?
