Doug has an excellent point. I would find it difficult to believe that the
problems are limited to the missing centerboard and rudder. Fiberglass boats
are expensive to scrap, the last figure I heard quoted was $200/linear foot.
A common scam is to get some sucker to buy the thing, stick the disposal
problem to the next guy. You can find some Chrysler owners here

informed opinion on the subject, rather than uninformed opinion or
speculation.

I know of a decent Chysler 26 that was blow over in a hurricane a few

these
parts).
Any ideas where a replacement keel and rudder can be found?
There is a Chrysler owners group on the web somewhere, try Google.
However,
when you say "this boat can be purchased for almost nothing" you're
looking at
it from the wrong way around. This boat is ready for the landfill, and if
you
want to sink your money and labor into it, then whoever is trying to
dispose of
it should pay you to take it.
The Chrysler 26 could become a nice boat, but it will soak up
approximately 5X
as much money and 20X as much time as you think it will.
