Surely Dubh Linn is more sensible: Blackpool? After all, nobody has
any problem with Donn Abha/ Danube.

When did naming ever make sense?

It was and is the Brown Danube,

The brown brownriver...?

never the Blue Danube, regardless of
J. Strauss Jnr

The Dan in Danube is the goddess *Danu (as in Tuatha De Danann). There
is no word meaning brown. Donn Abha is a modern pagan folk etymology.
She has as much right to be blue as any other colour.

Was she ever consort to the well known desperate of cow pie fame?

Don't be rude.

Says the guy who thinks it's OK to paint swasties on people's doorsteps or
to throw bombs at the innocent.
