Default Mooring

10 feet of poly.... pick it back up at low tide. The chain will lay to the
bottom.

| Mooring is 12-15 feet deep at high tide.....
| Hardly no traffic......none in winter time....

| How deep is the mooring? Is there lots of traffic over the mooring area?

more

| | If it does get torn off.... you still have 20 feet of floating line
| | [yellow/
| | 1/2"] to snag. That won't rip off. It would be a rare occasion to
| remove
| | the
| | 2x4.... but I've seen it happen with 7 feet of ice and -45 temp all
| | winter.

| | | Forgot to add.... there is a river that flows into the basin.....
| | | Lots of ice flow........would the 2x4 be carried away?

| | | Polyprop floating line .... about 20 feet. A piece of 2x4 about
a
| foot
| | | long
| | | with a hole drilled through the center.
| | | Run the rope through the 2x4 and tie it off... put the other end
| on
| | the
| | | chain for your mooring. Toss the works over and pick it up at
low
| tide
| | | next
| | | year with a boat hook.
| | |
| | | Works every time....

| | | | Getting ready to drop my mooring for the winter.......
| | | |
| | | | I'm just going to run a line from the chain to the shore.....
| | | |
| | | | Or I might get a smaller ball so it is below the ice...
| | | |
| | | | Any radical/new ways of doing this?
