Default Forgetful?

Old Thom,

You guys are just jealous because I'm privy to information that's
not generally known. It just so happens I used to converse with
Wm. Tripp before he died. He and all those California boat factories
were in bed together. They stole each other's designs, modified them
a wee bit to suit their thoughts on speed and produced their own
version. Lapworth was pretty clever and he managed to design some
pretty fast boats many of which are still competitive to this day. He was
lucky enough to be able to build on what Tripp had already done.

The hierarchy is Hereschoff - Tripp - all the rest.

I know things you people only dream of knowing and have a hard time
understanding even if you think you know.

S.Simon - goes way, way back and in the thick of things

John,

You're absolutely correct. Lapworth never was associated with Columbia
or Coronado. Tripp was the Coronados designer. He tried to go Lapworth
one better with the Coronado for a boat for the Masses but it never came
near CAL for performance.

Simple is off on another attempt to make his "Banana Boat" something it
will never be. It was an inexpensive vessel but is under powered, sail
wise. He knows it but can't except it. It is SLOW.
