Bronze Age boat 'oldest in Europe. The boat discovered in 1963 is
older than first thought
By the BBC's Rebecca Jones
A boat found more than 40 years ago near Hull has been identified
as the oldest of its kind in western Europe.
That is very impressive. I always knew us celts were firece
sea-goers. I could have sworn my neighbours had a boat that was
older (built some time
in
the 1950s), but I bow to yer clear expertise here. So it's hats off
to
the
boatin Irish then begob? (or Geordies maybe)
Like you I'm still scratching my head and trying to figure out what
various boats found near Hull have to do with the Irish. Still in
between the incoherent warbling Mike does convey some theories which
are as cookie as anyone else on here. You know the good folks of Hull
are far too far south to be thought of as Geordies, but I can't for
the love of me think what they'd be called. Does anyone know?
Vikings?
Nazis?
