Default Flag question

Where's the proper place to fly a Jolly Roger? The masthead?

And, am I right in thinking that it shouldn't be flown when in port?

I hate to be a killjoy .... BUT ...

.... There is an old law on the statute books that says that it is every
sailor's duty to sink any vessel that is flying the Jolly Roger.

If I was on port tack, and I had a collision with a boat that was on
starboard tack flying a jolly Roger, then I would claim that I had done it
on purpose. I wouldn't have anything to lose, would I?

Now ... I will make up for being a killjoy!!!

If you want to fly a "fun" flag, then look up the "pilot jack". The last
time that I flew one was at an MOD rally! Bear in mind that I have an Irish
accent. When questioned about it, I said that silly English rules did not
apply to the Irish, and that we could fly whatever we liked on our boats!
(a quick look at the stern would have revealed that we were flying a red
ensign!!!).

Get yourself a pilot jack. It is waaaaay more fun that a Jolly Roger.
