We fortunately didn't have any riff-raff. The Governor's Cup was on

Saturday, and about the on;y worthwhile reportable event was that I had
words with one of the racers when he and a friend decided to move our boat
forward on the dock without checking to see if we were aboard. Mr Sails was
cleaning the bilge and I was making up berths when all of a sudden there's
someone pn our boat..I quickly popped out the companionway and asked him
what the heck he thought he was doing. He said he was moving our boat and
he ddn't know anyone was aboard. All our hatches were open, the
companionway was open...and he didn't hail. I told him he was pretty rude
for coming aboard without permission and next time to hail or knock or
something. He wasn't from our yacht club, so I expect they don't teach
manners wherever he elarned to sail. The rest of the weekend was grey.
Sunday was really light winds...we stuck the chute up...Today was much
better. We've had the weirdest run of East winds this
year. It blew about 5=8 today but there was no power behind the wind at

all. And the waves were all running backward toward Wisconsin. A lot more
wind on Muskegon Lake when we came back in, so tacked around in there for
awhile until it started to rain. Less traffic going home than on a normal
weekend. I think everyone stayed home because of the weather. Suited us
fine. Dodging drunks in motor boats is never fun. Did see one a-hole in a
motorboat take on the CG, though. I was at the helm entering the harbor
seawall area from the big lake alongside a CG bouy tender. This hoo-haw cam
e flying through, like they usually do and the CG vessel gave them 5
blasts...they slowed down and were doing 5 K at the channel markers....but
they were still behind the tender and I don't think they knew it was a CG
vessel. About 100 ft from the end of the channel, they revved up and
blasted past the tender and got 6 blasts and 2 coasties came running out,
one with a clipboard frantically
writing down his reg. #'s. Hope they sent him a ticket.
