Yes, sir! You've certainly learned to "do the job" which job
includes:

1) extensive illegal dumping of trash and oil,
2) presenting a hazard to navigation by not paying attention to the Rules,
3) failing to keep a radio watch on channel 16 as required,
4) not keeping a proper visual lookout by eye and ear 24/7,
5) not keeping an eye on the radar screen and accepting 'blind spots',
6) improper emptying of ballast tanks so as to cause invasions of zebra mussels
and who-only-knows what else,
7) carrying paying passengers on ships not licensed for it,
8) excessive use of alcohol and drugs,
9) constant failure to secure deck cargo and losing containers,
10) calling the above "doing the job and having fun".

Yes, sir! You certainly exemplify all that is wrong with motor
boat captains.

ROFL, Sorry, forgot your "Novice" status.
Those of us who've been out here awhile, have learned to do the "job",
seriously and enjoy the doing. If you ever get some real "sea time", you
might understand.

You need to learn to have fun while performing "serious business". If I
ever get to hold your view, I'll retire to a nice beach cottage.

Thought you'd already 'retired'. Fired and unemployable more like . . .

When serious business becomes 'fun' it's no longer serious
and your attitude explains the many collisions and disasters at
sea that go on and on and on. If more so-called professional
captains would take their profession more seriously accidents
like the recent sinking of a sailboat by a navy ship would never
have happened. Such events are inexcusable. People like
yourself confusing fun hobbies with serious professions need
to be plucked out like weeds in a garden. Only a giant fool
is at the helm of a huge ship thinking "Gee Mommy, this is fun!".
And you have the nerve to laugh at me . . .? I'm your better
by a factor of at least four or five.
