That was why the keel was altered and it was done by the factory at
their suggestion and their expertise. They changed the modified swept
back keel to the standard keel


That sounds like a good thing to do, and kudos to the yard for suggesting it. I
have a centerboard on both of my boats, when it touches bottom I raise it a
little an head for deeper water. That technique would not be a good idea if the
bottom tended to be rocky but I am spoiled be the soft mud pretty much
everywhere in the Chesapeake.

The wetted area is increased but I truly wonder about the drag. That
wing really stabilizes trim without rudder drag. Even my female crew
would look at the master spoke and trim sail to neutral with no trouble

You're right about trade off but overall I love my wing
