Default Welcome!

Ratcheting winches are a useful feature. A. bimini which prevents the
360* sweep of your winch handle is bad design. And don't even begin to
tell me you never used the high speed 360* sweep to bring in
moderately loaded genoa sheet fast.....wait a minute... you don't have
a two speed self tailing winch. You're entombed in a Coranado. My bad.

What's your problem? Never ratcheted a winch?

When you work on your engine do you not take
out any bolt or nut where you cannot turn the
ratchet handle 360º?

Why do winches ratchet in the first place?

Hey, stupid, don't you know that winches ratchet?

Only an idiot turns a winch 360 degrees so he can
fall overboard doing it or lose the handle overboard.

It's a beautiful thing, isn't it?

The most beautiful thing about it is that the winch handle can't be turned because of the bimini.
Obviously this winch never gets used to trim a sheet, which is hardly surprising on a boat that never
sails.
