Default Berties real purpose

Sorry to disagree Mike, but it was pretty obvious from the first
day that bunny**** showed up that this was the case.

These guys are just a cancerous growth on usenet. They're really
a bunch of low-life teenagers (at least mentally) who have nothing
better to do with their pathetic lives. They're too chicken to actually
use their real names, and they hide behind bs ISPs that don't have
a semblence of morals or ethics. They, like their lamer users, are
just a bunch of cowards and assholes. They claim that they allow
large cross-posting policies to ensure "free speech," when in fact
all they do is enable the opposite to occur.

Fortunately, it's possible to filter them out if you know what's going
on and you have a modicum of ability. Unfortunately, new people to
the group won't know this, and this will probably mean that this ng
will become less and less an interesting an informative (or at least a
somewhat friendly) place to relax among aquaintences.

The only way to deal with them is to ignore them completely in the
newsgroup. Eventually, they'll get bored with the lack of or little
response, and they'll move on to greener pastures. If you feel you
absolutely must respond, send email to their respective abuse
departments. What will probably happen is that they'll either
ignore you or forward your email to the "victim" you're reporting.
The former doesn't do anything, but the latter could have an
effect if enough people complain, since the "victim" will start to
get a lot of email.. it's likely that they'll just delete it, but perhaps
this is a good use of "spam."

I used to think was to rid the internet, or at least usenet, of idiots who
messed up newsgroups. I actually thought he was pretty good at it, and
kinda cheered him on. I thought of him like a crusader bunyip. Lately he
seems like he may have a more sinister agenda? Did you guys **** him off?
Pardon me, I've been gone for a week or so bringing my "new" boat home

from
Ensenada, stopping off for a night in Avalon to marry my darling Lady
Sailor.
Will post again about the interesting passage, but the boat and wife are
safely home now.
