Some people claim a bigger boat is more 'work' to get out on. Maybe 40'.
But I can be sailing my 30'er about 15 minutes after stepping on the dock.
Yep. It's just another excuse.
It isn't really "more work" to take a bigger boat out, but it is higher stakes.
And it can be "more work" (depending on the rig & gear) to get a bigger boat's
sails set once underway. But I figure WTF is the reason for having the boat in
the first place? Impressing one's marina neighbors?
Our boat takes me about ten minutes to get underway, although I once saved time
by forgetting to unplug the shore power (doh!!).
The reason I don't daysail much is the 2 hour car trip to get to the boat.
Yeah, the drive sucks. We end up duking it out with morons going to/returning
from the beach. Half of them seem to be either drunk or yakking on the phone,
or both.
