Default Weird Weather

The weather is just fine and just great down here in
the fabulous Florida Keys. It is hot but there is not
much rain and light winds in the five to 15 knot range -
mostly on the lower end of the range.

Why not come down for a vacation? Get away from
that aggravating mess up there for a while.

What is with the weather this year? August here is usually droughty but we've started out the same as the rest of the
summer...rain, rain, rain. Yesterday was great, even though they had predicted 50-60% chance of rain (we ignored the forecast
when I looked at the weather radar and the closest rain was in St. Louis). Overnight the wind swung into the east, ehich is
really bizarre for mid0summer here, and then about 1pm today, convections torms started spring up. The West Marine regatta

was
today and a bunch of sailors for the Yacht Club went out but came back unfinished...our end of the lake was sunny with blue

sky
but a huge thenderhead had reared up over the other end, approximately 6 miles away., and was storming to beat the
band...unfortunately, that's where they all had to sail to...Last night was great, though, before the humidity set in...a

nice,
fresh breeze came up and we sat on our mooring in the dark watching the lights...a couple of lakers came down the channel with
their search lights on...I guess they don't like running over the night fisher's...On the way home it rained so hard hald the
traffic was pulled off the road..and then it started to hail...we passed an accident where a guy had gone across the medium
(verge for you other world guys) and gone into a ravine...had about 15 emergency vehicles there...local news truck was there,
too, so I imagine we'll see what happened on the 11 pm news...
