From the archives .

Army Corps of Engineers tug BOURNE passing through on a February 2003
day . Only saw this boat one time . I'm sure she was disposed of and
sitting who knows where or scrapped .

Interesting. My observations here at *my*canal is that the Corps gives
their vessels local names. The Corps used to have a tug up here and
most of the land cut of the Cape Cod Canal passes through the Town of
Bourne, Massachusetts.

I need to look through my old pictures to see if she's the tug that
used to be here.

Please do Bob. An old boat friend of mine pointed out that she may
have been decommissioned shortly befor this image because most of the
ACOE tugs had an ACOE emblem on the stack and they flew an ACOE flag
which this guy does not have either.. But , Corps of Engineers is
painted under the name on the stern. Who knows ?

Hi Lee,
I took a look through my canal pics and didn't find any of the tug.
This surprises me, thought I would have one of her tied up in the
background of some picture.
I am going to take a more thorough look and will post if I find
something even if she's not the focus (pun intended) of tehpicture.
Bob

Sounds like a plan .
