My guess is that Kraft was unwilling to meet his salary expectations.
That's not unreasonable given Brady's age and declining ability.
Hopefully the Pat's have a fresh prospect hidden somewhere.

No, actually most have wished Brady well and thank him for the
exciting years he played here ... all 20 of them.

But it's time for Belichick and his coaches to start designing,
recruiting and planning for the future Pat teams. They can't
center those plans on a "system" QB like Tom Brady who, at 42,
has indicated he only plans to play for another couple of years.
