Went down to the lighthouse for the 150th anniversary. Can not go up in
the tower, first base tours in years. The cast iron works were not taken
care of and painted after automation in 1970. So the place is under
restoration. The original light burned lard oil. Then converted to
kerosene. Foggy, very foggy and the ocean was rough. Glad was nicer for
the crab opener two weeks ago and the vets crabbing last weekend.
