I am generally in the 100/60 to 110/70 range when my BP is checked. As to heartrate, my resting heartrate is anywhere between 51 and 57 BPM. Not to bad for a 69 year old male.
Excellent. If anything you are tending more to hypotension (low blood
pressure) according some some charts.
I suffer from hypothyroidism. Even with the medication I take those who suffer from hypothyroidism tend to have slower heart rates and lower blood pressure. I was at the Dr. Saturday for my 6 month check and my BP was 110/64 and my heart rate was 51 at the time I was there.
For such a little organ the thyroid really has a lot of influence on the
body as a whole.
My wife had the opposite condition ...Hyperthyroidism ... or overactive
thyroid. Noticed it many years ago when her hands shook. At the time
she was also diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing treatment
for that. During a private meeting with her oncologist he assured me
that that could deal with the cancer but he was more concerned with
getting the thyroid under control.
Ended up with her drinking some radioactive stuff that killed off about
half (or more) of her thyroid. It worked although she has to take
medication daily to maintain the proper amount of "T4" whatever that is.
The day I took her into Boston for the nuclear medicine drink the doc
told me to have her ride in the back seat on the way home and for me
not to sleep in the same bed with her for a couple of days. I thought
he was making a joke but he was serious. She was temporarily
dangerously radioactive. :-)
