so, this morning, over coffee, Mrs.E. and I were discussing the world in
general which led to politics, as usual.

I was trying to make a point to her that many of the "right" and many of
the "left" only think in black and white. They tend to subscribe to
whatever the trends are of their political persuasion rather than try
to evaluate and consider what may be good of both.

I gave her an example of religious beliefs. I said that despite
science, it would be very difficult for her to renounce the religious
beliefs she was indoctrinated with early in her life.

She, said, "Yup, I believe in God and I believe you go to Heaven if
you have been a "good" person.

I told her I didn't believe in the concept of Heaven. Told her,
"When you're dead, you're just dead". You don't exist anymore.

She says, "That's ok. I believe in Heaven enough for both of us,
so we'll be together there too".

My response: "Wait. Our marriage vows said, "Until death do us part".

Her response: "Whoever wrote that wasn't Italian."

True. I am also married to a Catholic 1/4 Northern Italian.
