This is the post that started the feeding frenzy.

Oz, the post that started it was your asswipe-stupid remark that guns
don't belong on boats.

Not so. Read on...

Carrying guns on a boat is a foolish and dangerous thing to
do. You're not going to be able to stop the really bad guys
with your puny little weapons. You're just inviting people to
shoot back. Let them take your crap and then get some more.

this has been a truly fun thread to read but if you want a practical
answer to your question you will likely have to detail the question to a
specific area.

Don't sway from it man.

He doesn't have to. He didn't say it. See above. The feeding frenzy, proper,
kicked in after the Jasson post, but I can't help thinking that it was the
intolerant attitude in your reply to Ganzy (the one in which I later
described you as coming across as some sort of "gun nut") that set the
preconditions for the feeding frenzy. As soon as you pick a limb to go out
on, there will be folks on other limbs ready to throw sticks at you.

If you can't handle the
fact that you are a comi with no free world experience then at least be
man (or woman) enough to admit it.

Danny, that's a ridiculously one-sided statement. Your position is
illogical. You yourself said that the need for guns on a boat applies in
specific areas where the risks can be considered to be sufficiently high. It
follows that there are areas where guns are not needed because the risk is
sufficiently low, so you shouldn't be surprised to encounter people who
think guns on boats are a bad idea. To assume that everyone that doesn't
agree with you is a commie with no free world experience is arrogance almost
beyond belief. What kind of freedom is a freedom to risk committing murder,
lest you be murdered yourself?
