It's funny, the Dutch feel the same way about Heineken. They say it's
brewed for Americans

It is. It’s all watered down. 7% alcohol here, 40% there...

Unlikely.

Could be but not likely Heinekens. The record in Europe for
alcohol content in beer is "Snake Vemon", a Scottish brew
with an alcohol content of 67.5 percent.

Lots of places in the USA beer is limited to about 10%. Have to call it
something else if over that. Ale, malt liquor, etc.

The newest version (2017) of Sam Adams Utopias is 28% alcohol and is
marketed as "high alcohol beer". $200 a bottle. But, you are right,
it is illegal in eleven states. Legal in MA though.

Ah, that explains the extremely stringent gun control laws in MA.

I can assure you from experience that Utopias is supposed to be
sipped like a liqueur and only in small amounts. Trying to
drink it like regular beer can be life threatening. :-)

I don't drink, but if someone offerred me a taste, I'd try it just based on the comments you've made
about it. I thought I'd found a good deal on it, 'til I read more closely.

I suppose this is more like it.

I'll have to pass on the whole bottle I'm afraid.
