Don, have you checked to see that the dealer did, in fact, put oil in the thing? What is the wattage
of your space heater. If too high, it will overload the generator.

Yes, I checked the oil level...it's at the full mark. My old space heater has three settings...I start at the lowest and then move up to the middle setting which must be between 1000 and 1200 watts.
