I would rent a lift. I like renting equipment. Stuff like that is
trivial with a man lift.
At a certain point it is easier to just drop the tree. That is what we
did with the big fichus in the yard.
Problem with just dropping a tree, is location. I just paid $1800 to have
two Italian Alders cut down. Drought casualties. But 40’ tall near the
house. Got a discount for keeping most the wood for the wood stove.
My buddy got a discount for letting them take the wood. He's up north
where there's a good market for firewood.
Here, they most likely have to pay to get rid of it, or the sales price is
probably not high. Is alder, which is good for smoking fish, but not oak
quality firewood
