Terrible ... whatever the cause is.
Just heard that it was designed to withstand a Cat 5 hurricane and last
for at least 100 years.Â* It was pre-stressed to handle enormous loads.
It lasted one day.Â* Engineering screw up?Â* Construction screw up?
7 people are dead ... more injured.
...
And it’s claim is to be a “feat of engineering?â€
My wife's bet is they guess wrong about how cold it is here and they
tried to put a load on green* concrete. (*not properly cured)
One news report I heard was that they were doing stress tests on it.
Kinda dumb with heavy traffic driving under it.
I didn't hear about any equipment on the bridge.Â* I saw that they were
built off-site and set into place in sections.
The news report said they were doing stress tests *after* it was put in
place. But, you know how the news is. Everyone's trying to get an
"exclusive" and half the time the news is dead wrong.
