Another interesting aspect that doesn't seem to have gotten any
coverage is the fact that the hotel has no apparent balconies or
opening windows. That would imply that the shooter blew out the
windows from inside as he started his assault.

They do make larger drum type magazines for ARs.

This was reported as being a "millionaire" so with enough money you
can buy anything. They also say he was a gambler so he may have been
an ex millionaire.
He may have just snapped after a bad night in the casino.
