The thing that makes her really sound stupider than she was is the
fact that he had already broken the same law that regulates
suppressors when he modified that gun he used to make it full auto.
It is also true that a "silencer" is far from making a rifle "silent".
It may work fairly well on subsonic bullets, particularly in .22 rf
like Harry's but that is not a center fire rifle.
Most of the people said they did not associate the sound with gunfire
anyway. They thought it was part of the pyrotechnics show.
It was the people being shot that made it apparent what was happening.

I wasn't aware that the details of the weapons used were released. I did
hear that one of the rifles was a .223 and another was a .308. Were
either a true full auto, a bump-fire full auto, a full-auto made that
way by modification? There were so many people pushed together in such a
small space that specific accuracy probably was not a factor.

As usual, the various media sources are rushing to be first with details
and we probably will have to wait for a while before any of them are
proven to be correct.

Last I "heard" was the rifles used were AR-15 types that had been
converted to fully automatic. Whatever they were, the videos that have
been released sure sound like it was a fully automatic rifle. I also
"heard" that he was armed with something like 10 rifles and 500 rounds
of ammo.

Here's what is strange though, (if correct).

His brother is shocked and says the shooter was "not a gun nut" and only
owned a few handguns. He had no knowledge of him owning multiple
rifles, especially of the AR-15 variety.

If that's true, what would possess a "non-gun nut" to learn how to
modify an AR-15 for fully automatic operation? Did someone else do it
for him and put him up to this horrific shooting?

...
To me the audio "sounded" like an AK- slower than an AR.

Maybe it *was* an AK. Is there an AK-15? I am not a gun nut.
