I think the owners will find out that their fans tend to be more
patriotic than some of their players. In a business where the talent
available exceeds the number of people they can have on a team, they
may send some of these guys down the road. This is still show business
and if you alienate your fans, you lose your job. At a certain point,
they can rationalize that they are saluting their fans, even if they
still have disdain for the country that allows them to make 7 and 8
figure salaries for playing a dumb game.
