Have you tried scoping the waveform? There might be a surprise hidden
in there which could explain what you're seeing.

Good idea. I also want to scope the outputs of my UPS units as part of
another conversation I am having on another group.
I guess I will have "science day" when things calm down.

I always lusted after those portable Tektronix units that you CEs used
to lug around.

How deep is your lust? (now I have the BeeGee's song stuck in my head)
I have a spare 453 in the shop. Is it worth driving to Estero for you?
I will use that one to check the genset to be sure it is working.
